{"id":131399,"date":"2019-09-21T11:31:48","date_gmt":"2019-09-21T11:31:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=131399"},"modified":"2019-09-21T12:20:03","modified_gmt":"2019-09-21T12:20:03","slug":"psychology-secretariat-to-hold-training-on-psychological-first-aid-11-october","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=131399","title":{"rendered":"Psychology secretariat to hold training on psychological first aid, 11 October"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>By\nAlya Nadiah <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GOMBAK, 21 September 2019 \u201c The Psychology Secretariat will organise a one-day Mental Health Awareness Training (MHAT) in conjunction with the World Mental Health Week 2019 on 11 October to expose individuals on supportive and practical help during crisis situations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MHAT is essentially a training programme on psychological first aid (PFA) which will be held from 9:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m at HS Seminar Room, Human Sciences building. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The training will be given by the reputable Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diana Baranovich Shoup of University of Malaya, with a fee of RM15 to be charged for IIUM community, and a RM20 fee for non-IIUM community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u0153Psychological first aid training focuses on teaching individuals on how to give supportive and practical help to people who are suffering because of serious crisis.
