GOMBAK, 25 July 2019: The Takrim Day 2019 (previously known as Liqa Al-Jamai or Quality Day) was celebrated today by honouring more than 100 staff and members of IIUM community under 77 categories of awards who have gone the extra miles to contribute to the university and the society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the theme \u0153Leading The Way\u009d, the meaningful event was graced by the presence of IIUM new President, Datuk Dr. Mohd. Daud Bakar and the Rector, Prof. Emeritus Tan Sri Dato Dzulkifli Abdul Razak. The event was held in IIUM Cultural Centre (ICC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, Prof. Dr. Rosnani Hashim from Kulliyyah of Education (KoED) was named as the winner for Tokoh Akademik. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0153For us, we have to continue writing, teaching, conducting research and publishing. Managing our time to cope with all these activities despite of having the same amount of time like others is the real challenge,\u009d Prof. Dr. Rosnani Hashim said when asked to comment on the challenges she had to face in all the 32 years of her service in IIUM. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She added, \u0153The award is a very beautiful recognition and appreciation for all sacrifices she has made in her entire profession.\u009d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Asst. Prof. Dr. Adlina binti Hj. Ariffin from Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences (KIRKHS) was awarded as one of the top 30 contributors to IIUMS Research Performance. The award was in recognition of contribution to IIUM MyRA under Research Management Centre.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She told IIUMToday, \u0153In research, securing grants and publication are not easy. You get rejected multiple times. However, you must have the determination and perseverance to publish your ideas and make it known to the world because you believe in what you write and know that it has value.\u009d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohd. Adli bin Md. Ali from Kulliyyah of Science (KoS) who won the Promising Researcher Award last year, won another two awards this year for the Highest Number of Publications Award (Indexed Journal Articles, Health and Medical Sciences) and the Highest Citation in Indexed Journal Award (Sciences and Technology). He emphasised the challenges on acquiring grants and publication in research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, Iman Danial Hakim bin Md. Azam from Ahmad Ibrahim Kuliyyah of Laws (AIKoL) won Reading Icon (Student) Award. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
