{"id":129840,"date":"2019-05-08T03:02:33","date_gmt":"2019-05-08T03:02:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=129840"},"modified":"2019-05-11T06:15:33","modified_gmt":"2019-05-11T06:15:33","slug":"students-societies-line-up-iftar-dates-during-ramadan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=129840","title":{"rendered":"Students&#8217; societies line up Iftar dates during Ramadan"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>By Nurul Safwa Saluddin<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GOMBAK, 7 May 2019 &#8211; It is a second day of Ramadan and there are a number of grand <em>iftar<\/em> that had been held and will be conducted for the IIUM community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In conjunction of the fasting month, almost all Kulliyyah have set their dates to conduct Iftar either limited for the students of that particular kuliyyah or open to all the campus community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is also a grand <em>iftar <\/em>that will be conducted together with the community outside the campus like <em>Iftar Mahabbah<\/em> by ENGINIUS which is inviting the <em>Orang Asli <\/em>Gombak and the Grand <em>Iftar<\/em> by IRKHSSS with the Gombak community. Both events are targeting approximately seven to eight hundred participants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This programme is meant to help the needy people as well as for the campus community to feel and share the vibes of Ramadan with other people. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-05-07-at-9.59.55-AM-1024x767.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-129842\" width=\"383\" height=\"287\" srcset=\"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-05-07-at-9.59.55-AM-1024x767.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-05-07-at-9.59.55-AM-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-05-07-at-9.59.55-AM-768x575.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-05-07-at-9.59.55-AM.jpeg 1080w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 383px) 100vw, 383px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Assistant programme manager for Grand <em>Iftar <\/em>IRKHSSS, Mira Faizah said: &#8220;Besides <em>iftar,<\/em> a competition will be conducted to encourage people to spread the <em>dawah <\/em>by posting anything related with Ramadan on social media.\u009d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IRKHSSS&#8217;s big event on 10 May will be conducted at the field in front of the IIUM Cultural Centre (ICC) so that everyone who entered IIUM can find the venue easily as well as to welcome everyone who passed by to join the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Monday (6 May), the Economics and Management Sciences Society (EMSS) held their Grand <em>Iftar<\/em> for all IIUM community, at the same time a programme &#8220;Ihya Ramadhan&#8221; was launched. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EMSS will be conducting <em>iftar <\/em>everyday during Ramadan until 22 May, excluding Sunday.
