{"id":128911,"date":"2019-04-18T08:46:42","date_gmt":"2019-04-18T08:46:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=128911"},"modified":"2019-04-18T08:46:43","modified_gmt":"2019-04-18T08:46:43","slug":"linkedin-workshop-resume-should-have-meaningful-content","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=128911","title":{"rendered":"LinkedIn workshop: &#8220;Resume should have meaningful content&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>By Ma Feiya<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GOMBAK, 18 April 2019: A resume is an individual personal advertisement that can help a person win an interview, therefore, it is very important for it to be properly written and carries the most meaningful content, a LinkedIn workshop was told recently. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to senior general manager, Talent and Development Founding Partners from Top Voices Malaysia, Mr. Rayyan Irwan, a good resume should attract the attention of recruiters or Human Resources department (HRD) of an organisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He stressed, &#8220;HRD tends to spend a very short time on your resume, so be sure to write the most meaningful content.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Work experience is the most important part of the resume and should be described in detail to highlight the achievements of the past,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He suggested that each entry begins with a strong verb, such as &#8220;management&#8221;, &#8220;organization&#8221;, etc., avoid &#8220;help&#8221;, &#8220;support&#8221; and other weak words. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;In addition, no lie, keep honesty and highlight personal contribution,&#8221; he emphasised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also mentioned that graduates with lack of work experience can write on educational background and postpone writing on work experience.
