{"id":126008,"date":"2018-11-14T08:00:31","date_gmt":"2018-11-14T00:00:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=126008"},"modified":"2018-11-14T08:20:34","modified_gmt":"2018-11-14T00:20:34","slug":"mum-in-tears-as-she-receives-late-daughters-scroll-at-convo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=126008","title":{"rendered":"Mum in tears as she receives late daughters scroll at convo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>By<\/em> <em>Maisarah Mijar<\/em><\/strong><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>GOMBAK, 14 November 2018 \u201c The mother of the late Raudhah Nasuha binti Mokhtar, an engineering graduate, was in tears as she went up the stage to receive the scroll on behalf of the daughter at the 34<sup>th<\/sup> IIUM Convocation Ceremony yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Raudhah Nasuha, who had completed her studies, passed away last September in a highway accident.<\/p>\n<p>The degree was handed to her mother by Dato Sri Syed Hussein Abd Kadir Al Habshee, chairman of board of directors of International Islamic College, who is also the Secretary General of National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Malaysia (NCCIM).<\/p>\n<p>In his speech, Dato&#8217; Sri Syed Hussein reminded graduates, \u0153Always be thankful and grateful to your parents because their love never ends.\u009d<\/p>\n<p>Dato Sri Syed Hussien also called on IIUM graduates to always be the role model wherever they work as it shows that IIUM produces outstanding graduates, coming from the Garden of Knowledge and Virtue.<\/p>\n<p>\u0153IIUM graduates have to play the role of a <em>Murabbi<\/em> everywhere you go because people do not just need money, luxury, what they need is guidance, honesty and integrity. Show the people what sincerity means,\u009d he added.<\/p>\n<p>During the 4<sup>th<\/sup> session of the 34th convocation, 827 graduands received their scrolls in Engineering and Language Management. The ceremony also witnessed the presentation of Kulliyyah-level awards. Recipients of the awards are as follows:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><u>Kulliyyah of Engineering<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Best Students (Overall)<\/strong><br \/>\nMohamad Syafiq Bin Mazli<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Best Student (Academic)<\/strong><br \/>\nMuhammad Reza Ranjbar<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Best Student (Co-Curricular)<\/strong><br \/>\nMohd Tufail Bin Solong<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><u>Kulliyyah of Language and Management<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Best students (Overall)<\/strong><br \/>\nSiti Aisyah Binti Muheddin<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Best student (Academic)<\/strong><br \/>\nSyuhaidah Binti Shamsi<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Best student (Co-curricular)<\/strong><br \/>\nMaisara Binti Othman<\/p>\n<p>The valedictory speech was given by a representative from the best student (academic) from the Kulliyyah of Language and Management, Syuhaidah binti Shamsi.
