GOMBAK, 22 October 2018: The Centre of Islamic Economics (CIE) had invited 70 participants of I-Taajir Cycle 2 from Projek Perumahan Rakyat (PPR) Kampung Baru Air Panas in Kuala Lumpur to attend a two-day training session at Seminar Room, Kulliyyah of Economic and Management Sciences (KENMS) last Saturday and Sunday (20 & 21 October) .<\/p>\n

It was the first step to provide the theory aspect of training following CIE’s mission to organise an Entrepreneurship Mentoring Programme for targeted participants with micro finance fund from CIMB Islamic.<\/p>\n

\u0153Basically our objective was to have all participants undergo four I-Taajir theory modules,\u009d the Director of CIE, Prof. Mohamed Aslam Haneef, said in an interview with IIUMToday explaining that the four modules were Introduction, Account and Financial management, Promotion and Sale and Ethic.<\/p>\n

The two-day session also included group activities to increase their understanding of the theory part and to encourage good teamwork among the participants.<\/p>\n

\u0153If they understand the four basic concepts of entrepreneurship – product, promotion, price and place – they will be able to succeed as entrepreneurs,\u009d Prof. Ros Aniza Mohd Shariff, who is the head of Economic and Social Entrepreneurship said following module one presentation.<\/p>\n

Prof. Ros Aniza, who had 18 years of experience teaching Economic courses, also encouraged the participants to find the product based on their interest by optimising usage of search engine in the website to improvise and customise their business idea.<\/p>\n

\u0153We want them to have business that follows Islamic principles such as Qardul Hasanah, Murabahah and Mudharabah through this micro finance fund,\u009d she added.<\/p>\n

Besides that, in accounting and financial module, Dr. Siti Alawiyah Siraj from Kulliyyah of Economic and Management Sciences (KENMS) emphasised the cash management as micro business aspect.<\/p>\n

\u0153Without cash, you cant survive so that at the end of the session they will know how to prepare the savings fund,\u009d she shared her main point before the module began.<\/p>\n

The participants were expected to gain ideas about business throughout the training that will be presented on 17 November, guided by 20 student coaches from KENMS for their presentation, slide, and proposal.<\/p>\n

\u0153Hopefully they will have an idea on what they want to do because most of them already have a business,\u009d said Prof. Aslam, reminding them of a business plan and proposal presentation that needed to be done in front of the panels next month.***<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
