GOMBAK, 13 April 2018:\u00c2\u00a0Arts can be displayed in various forms like acting, singing, dancing and many more. A cultural event called International Cultural Night (ICN) displaying various performances of different cultures in one night was well applauded by the audience.<\/p>\n

Held on Monday (9 April) at the Main Auditorium from 9 p.m until 11 p.m and attended by Assistant Director, Office of Deputy Rector (Students Affairs and Alumni), Ahmad Izzudin bin Yunus, the event was organised by Students’ Representative Council (SRC) as part of\u00c2\u00a0 the Lights of Arts and Culture Festival, from 1 until 30 April.<\/p>\n

\u0153The event was open to all IIUM students, with free admission to expose the campus community to the spirit and the beauty of different cultures by IIUM students of varied backgrounds and Kulliyyah, national and international,\u009d said ICN’s event manager, Khalid Al Walid Mohamed.<\/p>\n

\u0153The main objective of the festival is to promote unity and integration among IIUM community and to provide beneficial activities for everyone. At the same time, it is to cater to various types of passions, hobbies and activities of the IIUM community,\u009d Chairperson of Sports and Culture Secretariat of SRC, Muhamad Ilyas bin Mohamad Noor, said.<\/p>\n

\u0153ICN is a great platform for IIUM students to present international arts and culture on the theme ‘Culture of Life’ through various performances from traditional dances, martial arts to musical performance,” he added.<\/p>\n

The SRC regarded this event as a great opportunity for students to expose their talents while promoting the different cultures in a multi-culture environment in the campus.<\/p>\n

“The event was aimed at breaking the barrier between local and international students and help promote unity among students with the fusion of performances consisting of various martial arts, music and dances,” said ICN’s public relations committee member, Nur Atikah Azman.<\/p>\n

The festival was enlivened by theatrical presentation by Ksyatria Production titled \u0153Sebuah Perjuangan\u009d followed by martial arts performance by Persatuan Seni Silat Cekak Malaysia (PSSCM), a traditional musical presentation (flute performance), and a singing performance by Bangladeshi Society, and culture dance by the famous Nafastari Dance Club.***<\/p>\n
