{"id":120347,"date":"2018-03-15T09:58:46","date_gmt":"2018-03-15T01:58:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=120347"},"modified":"2018-03-15T09:58:46","modified_gmt":"2018-03-15T01:58:46","slug":"iium-spordemic-challenge-src-urges-students-to-participate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=120347","title":{"rendered":"IIUM Spordemic challenge: SRC urges students to participate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>By Nurul Suhaidi<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>GOMBAK, 15 March 2018: The Students&#8217; Representative Council (SRC) is encouraging all IIUM students to take part in IIUM Spordemic challenge to be held in campus here from 16 to 18 March aimed at\u00c2\u00a0strengthening the bonds between students from different countries in IIUM.<\/p>\n<p>Initiated by the SRC Presidential Secretariat, Spordemic is the only event combining three aspects of life education: academic intelligence, sports and cultural integration.\u00c2\u00a0 This inter-country programme will be filled with various activities including IQ (academic) challenge, treasure hunt, athletic sport race, futsal, community service and \u00c2\u00a0cultural performance.<\/p>\n<p>The venue for the programme will be around the IIUM campus and Experimental Hall.<\/p>\n<p>For community service, the participants will conduct outreach community programme with the\u00c2\u00a0<em>Orang Asli<\/em> kids to teach them and provide aids.<\/p>\n<p>\u0153Currently we received requests from students who are interested in joining as representatives of their home country for cultural performance,\u009d its founder, Abdulrahman Aboud Abubakar said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, according to its programme manager,\u00c2\u00a0Ahmed Abdul Rahman Nkoba, the SRC is targeting for more supporters and participants this year to take part in the event to represent their countries.<\/p>\n<p>\u0153We encourage all students to actively participate. In the previous Spordemic challenge 2017, the performance was epic.
