{"id":119236,"date":"2017-12-22T16:32:52","date_gmt":"2017-12-22T08:32:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=119236"},"modified":"2017-12-22T16:42:00","modified_gmt":"2017-12-22T08:42:00","slug":"rationality-the-key-to-stop-corruption-prof-wahabuddin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=119236","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Rationality the key to stop corruption&#8221; &#8211; Prof. Wahabuddin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>By Nurul Wafa Aula Alias<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>GOMBAK, 22 December 2017 &#8211; People should go back to rationality by obeying the divine law in order to stop corruption, Prof. Dr. Wahabuddin Rae&#8217;es of\u00c2\u00a0Political Science Department told the audience at a seminar here yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When the rationality of people who are together responsible to run the institution and state are taken away by their desire, that is the sign of decay of civilisation.<\/p>\n<p>To prevent that, according to Ibn Khaldun, perspective people should go back to God and ponder what is right or wrong,&#8221; he explained during the seminar on &#8220;Civilisations: a Multinational Perspective&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>According to the professor, &#8220;the nature of humankind composed of intellect, rationality, and some animal side in their soul&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Man is free to do what they want to do, but to prevent us from corruption, we need to pay attention to God&#8217;s command,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>He also elaborated on the term <em>Assobiyyah<\/em> when people in a state are living with a feeling of togetherness and belonging to each other. &#8220;These feelings will strengthen\u00c2\u00a0the social interaction between people in one particular state and institution.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The seminar was held at Senate Hall.
