GOMBAK, 15 November 2017:\u00c2\u00a0The last day of the IIUM 33rd Convocation Ceremony on Monday (13 November) witnessed\u00c2\u00a01,958 graduands from seven Kulliyyah being conferred their scrolls,\u00c2\u00a0marking the end of convocation ceremony for 2017.<\/p>\n

In her speech, the Rector of IIUM, Prof. Dato Sri Dr. Zaleha Kamarudin, advised IIUM graduates to always practice Islamic values which have been taught persistently throughout their intelectual journey in IIUM.<\/p>\n

She encouraged graduates to remain\u00c2\u00a0shariah-compliant in whatever nature of career that they pursue, as Islam is the main guideline and framework in which life is lived.<\/p>\n

\u0153In this premier Islamic university, you should soar higher with Islamic values. The curriculum in IIUM is the product of Islamisation -\u00c2\u00a0an initiative uniquely designed by the learned people of this university, and formulated as a reformation for the Muslim ummah.”<\/i><\/p>\n

In her parting words to the graduands, she reminded them to always honour and appreciate their lecturers and parents who have\u00c2\u00a0been giving unswerving\u00c2\u00a0moral support throughout their journey as students.<\/p>\n

Mr. Pamnan and Mdm. Hayati, who came to the ceremony to watch their daughter Najla Binti Pamnan, a graduand from AIKOL, receiving her scroll, expressed their pride to IIUM.<\/p>\n

\u0153I feel proud\u00c2\u00a0with\u00c2\u00a0my daughter’s achievement and I’m satisfied that I have fulfilled the responsibilities given by Allah SWT,\u009d Pamnan said.<\/p>\n

\u0153I expect that my daughter\u00c2\u00a0will carry out her responsibilities with a strong commitment and\u00c2\u00a0confidence in a career that is certainly far more challenging,\u009d he added.<\/p>\n

The 2017 convocation ceremony also witnessed the Kulliyyah-level awards.\u00c2\u00a0Recipients of the awards are\u00c2\u00a0as follows:<\/p>\n
