{"id":118020,"date":"2017-11-04T00:59:26","date_gmt":"2017-11-03T16:59:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=118020"},"modified":"2018-03-15T13:55:04","modified_gmt":"2018-03-15T05:55:04","slug":"asma-caixinyue-wins-voice-for-ummah-contest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.iium.edu.my\/?p=118020","title":{"rendered":"Asma Caixinyue wins \u0153Voice for Ummah\u009d contest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>By Sidra Ahmed<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>GOMBAK, 4 November 2017: Asma Caixinyue&#8217;s topic on &#8220;The unity of the Muslim <em>ummah&#8221;\u00c2\u00a0<\/em>won her the first place in &#8220;Voice for Ummah&#8221; competition, which was held at Experimental Hall on Thursday\u00c2\u00a0(2\u00c2\u00a0November).<\/p>\n<p>With the title \u0153When your right hand is injured, let me be your left hand&#8221;, Asmas eloquence struck a chord with the audience and judges alike, awarding her a well-deserved victory.<\/p>\n<p>\u0153If we consider the whole <em>ummah<\/em>\u00c2\u00a0as one body, then why do we keep emphasising on the scars?\u009d she asked her audience.<\/p>\n<p>Asma, who hails from China, took home a trophy and a certificate. She said that she was &#8220;extremely happy&#8221; to have won this competition and\u00c2\u00a0to be able to represent and voice out for the <em>ummah.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Fatima Altalib who spoke about \u0153The heart and the Muslim <em>ummah<\/em>\u009d and Kadeeja Raeda who spoke about \u0153Palestine\u009d won second and third\u00c2\u00a0place respectively.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Voice for Ummah&#8221; is a speech competition among IIUM students organised by Al-Aqsa Friends Society.
