GOMBAK, 19 April 2017: IIUM as garden of knowledge and virtue received 50 Muallaf children from Chinese and Indian descents for learning basic Al-Quran at Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Mosque through Super Muslim Camp.<\/span><\/p>\n

The two- day camp was held on 15 to 16 April and organised by Biro Ikhwan PERKIM, Gombak Secretariat with the objective to enhance the recitation and to instil the love spirit toward Al-Quran.<\/span><\/p>\n

The participants who came from Bukit Sentosa, Bukit Beruntung and Sentosa learnt basic Quranic lessons such as Tajwid<\/i> and Hafazan<\/i> through an easy module for all ages ranging from 10 to 17 years old, prepared by the facilitator. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u0153I choose Ibadah camp as our programme because Quanic knowledge is not just about theory, but it’s more to understanding and practicality on what they studied at school,\u009d Siti Nur Syamilah as a programme manager shared about the idea of the camp. <\/span><\/p>\n

She hoped these children could apply what they have learnt at home and not just simply memorising it. <\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the programme secretary, Muhammad Faizuddin claimed that as Muallaf they must have strong basic religion first because they came from new Muslim family and there are many things they still did not understand yet. <\/span><\/p>\n

He said, \u0153Before this we conducted Smart Solat Camp, and this is its continuation to teach them about our basic religion.\u009d<\/span><\/p>\n

The camp was based on Training in Group where\u00c2\u00a0<\/i>participants were divided into three groups according to their level of learning which are Iqra, Al-Quran and Muqaddam. Besides that, they also received a collaboration from the famous Muallaf scholar such as Ustaz Farhan and Ustaz Farid who are active in Islamic preaching. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u0153Age was not a limitation to learn Quran and Fardhu \u02dcAin, and I am very satisfied because the camp ran smoothly and full of contents, besides the participants used the module and techniques comprehensively,\u009d Syamilah expressed her satisfaction. <\/span><\/p>\n

Most of the participants were also satisfied with the programme and wished it could be extended for one week. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u0153I am very happy because not just I learnt about Al-Quran recitation, but also how to respect and love each other although we are from different racial background,\u009d Waqiuddin Natal, 17, said during the event. <\/span><\/p>\n

He came with his sister who is also a Muallaf.<\/span><\/p>\n

Throughout the programme, the slot conducted such as \u02dcSet your mind and reset your heart and \u02dcEnergiser #chaiyok focused on self-development and motivation. <\/span><\/p>\n

For the next event, they planned to organise second Super Muslim Camp in September after the Iftar programme with the Muallaf during fasting month. <\/span><\/p>\n

Faizuddin told IIUMToday, \u0153We want to expose the reality life of Muallaf group and change the perception of society toward them.\u009d<\/span><\/p>\n

Faizuddin said IIUM students who are interested to\u00c2\u00a0participate in the programmes to educate the Muallaf may contact ‘biro Ikhwan’ at 013-4406718. ***<\/span><\/p>\n
