GOMBAK, 12 September 2016: It’s\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>Eid Mubarak. Eid means joy, Eid means happiness. Every year we celebrate two occasions, Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha. <\/span><\/p>\n

Today, 10 Zulhijjah 1437H, Muslims all over the world celebrated one of the happiest days, the Eid-ul-Adha.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

IIUM showed a big multicultural Eid-ul-Adha celebration among students and their families. Students from more than one hundred countries enjoyed the day, which made unity in diversity in IIUM campus a reality.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u0153It is not just important to eat the meat, rather it is a very enjoyable and cheerful moment while we work together in the spirit of brotherhood on this auspicious occasion,\u009d said Mohammad Qasim, a student from the Kulliyyah of Engineering.<\/span><\/p>\n

By the grace of Allah, the congregational prayer of Eid-ul-Adha started at 8:30 a.m at the Sultan Ahmad Shah Mosque, IIUM.<\/span><\/p>\n

There was a good khutbah<\/em> from the khatib<\/em>\u00c2\u00a0on the need for brotherhood among Muslims to strengthen the bonds among the ummah <\/em>throughout the universe. The Eid-ul-Adha prayer ended with a special do’a for the development of the ummah.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Following this, there was a good environment that existed among the campus community through cooperation shown while performing the slaughtering of cows for the\u00c2\u00a0ibadah qurban<\/em> or “sacrifice”. <\/span><\/p>\n

Although the university’s management had divided the cows separately according to the students from the countries they came from, they managed to work together and helped each other to create a feeling brotherhood during this memorable day at the university.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fahmi Balandi, a student from Turkey said, \u0153It is my first time to celebrate this occasion outside my country and I got a lot of experience today that are totally different from my culture.”<\/span><\/p>\n

\u0153This will be my lesson for the future on how people from different cultural backgrounds can make such a good relationship by working simultaneously like what we do today,\u009d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the end of the day, the result was that people enjoyed themselves and felt happy with the support of everybody.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u0153Today I feel that Im celebrating my day with my own family because together here we are like a family and it’s already proven by everyone of us working together, \u009d said Fakhi Ali, a student fromTanzania.<\/span><\/p>\n

May Allah SWT accept our sacrifices for what we have done today. ***<\/span><\/p>\n
