Cross-dressing, what next?

Three male Muslims (Muhamad Juzaili Mohd Khamis, Shukor Jani and Wan Fairol Wan Ismail) were charged in the lower Syariah Court in Seremban with the offence of cross-dressing under Section 66 of the Syariah Criminal (Negri Sembilan) Offence Enactment 1992. The offence carries a penalty (upon conviction) of a fine of not more than RM1,000 or a prison-term of not more than six months or both. Their lawyers challenged it by making an application in the civil High Court for a declaration that Section 66 was void on the grounds that it contravened various provisions of the Federal Constitution.
