LAST month, I was at an investment conference in Kuala Lumpur where speakers spoke enthusiastically on the China-led initiatives, OBOR (One Belt One Road) and AIIB (Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank). A speaker even said that OBOR and AIIB will add excitement to the local bourse. I dont see this happening soon. At least not until Asean and China can find common grounds on how China-led initiatives can support Aseans own vision of infrastructure connectivity. It is still work-in-progress, at best.
