GOMBAK, 15 September 2015:  It was a great success for Malam Santai Budaya Citra: The Colours of Life held yesterday at the Main Hall, Culture Activity Centre (CAC) in promoting a diversity of culture from home and abroad.
Organised by the Centre for International Islamic Culture (CiTRA) in cooperation with Istana Budaya, Malam Santai Budaya Citra, also known as Citra Muzika Grand Concert, showed it was possible to manifest Islamic culture and arts performance in one single entity.
The President of IIUM, Tan Sri Dr. Rais Yatim said: œWe witnessed this evening that IIUM students have got the flare to participate in good rendition of programmes pertaining to music, cultural exhibition, as well as expression in songs. Therefore, we must not forget one iconic matter, that is, in every community, do not let go the artistic inclination of its people.
The cultural night was participated by a number of IIUM cultural clubs to present and introduce themselves to the audience. Besides the performance, a special award known as Citra Budi Award was also given to acknowledge the dedication and hard work of the club in making this event a success.
Four awards that were given out were Citra Budi Award for brotherhood, won by IIUM Percussion Club, Citra Budi Award for culture, won by IIUM Gamelan Club, Citra Budi Award for leadership, won by the IIUM acoustic band, and Citra Budi Gold Award, won by IIUM Gamelan Club.***
