TUESDAYS crowd trouble at Shah Alam Stadium, which forced a World Cup qualifier between the national football team and Saudi Arabia to be abandoned, is unacceptable. Yes, the fans were angry that Malaysian football is in this state but throwing flares and smoke bombs to vent their anger was both silly and dangerous. What if their actions fail to get a reaction? Are these so-called fans then going to resort to beating up or even killing rivals in the stands?
