IN accordance with its statutory mandate, the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam) monitored the Bersih 4 peaceful assembly and, at the outset, wishes to commend the authorities, in particular the Royal Malaysia Police, for their professional conduct in facilitating the assemblies, as well as the organisers and participants in ensuring successful and harmonious assemblies in Kuala Lumpur, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu on Aug 29 and 30.
