Masjid carnival to be held in International Islamic University Malaysia

GOMBAK: The office of Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah (SHAS) Mosque will be organizing the Masjid Carnival 2014 to welcome the holy month of Ramadhan.

The Masjid Carnival will be held at Mosque Square from 9 am to 5 pm on the 26th and 27th June 2014.

œThe event is infused with the spirit of IIUM family agenda, said Administrative Officer Nik Hziman Nik Mat here, today.

Premised on the theme œAhlan Ya Ramadhan, the Masjid Carnival sets out to do just that in an innovative way by providing the communities inside and outside IIUM with an avenue to welcome Ramadhan together.

Enlivening the IIUM atmosphere would be enriching programmes such as Iqra programme, i-Masjid launching, fund raising, khat and tilawah competitions, nasyeed performances, and forums, to name a few.

Concurrent with it, well-known establishments such as Students Learning Enhancement Unit (SLEU), Daya Bersih, IIUM Endowment Fund (IEF), i-Masjid Group, Iqra Corner, and Research Management Centre (RMC) will be hosting exhibitions laden with activities.

œThe event will be officiated by the Rector, Prof. Dato Sri Dr. Zaleha Kamaruddin and so is the launching of Masjid Carnival programs, said Nik Hziman.

œThe objective of this event is for the mosque to be a centre for Tarbiyyah Ruhiyyah, the epicentre for the promotion of Islamic intellectualism and Ummatic consciousness in International Islamic University Malaysia, he added.

The event is the first of its kind to be organized by the SHAS Mosque management.
