AS Hawaii hosted the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) meeting of the chief negotiators on July 24 and proceeded with the ministerial meeting from July 28 to 31, the focus must have been on whether the terms in the agreements can be finalised and eventually concluded. This is the first meeting since United States President Barack Obama was granted the œfast-track authority by the House and the Senate to enable him to present the final draft of the deal to Congress without the hurdle of further debate for amendments.
