LET me congratulate my friend Tan Sri Lin See-Yan for his recent book entitled, aptly, The Global Economy in Turbulent Times. Times are indeed turbulent when one sees the exchange rates for many world currencies vis-a-vis the United States dollar. Some of these currencies, like the Norwegian currency, depreciated against the US dollar for no apparent reasons.
