AS I returned to the city after a few days of celebrating Hari Raya in the kampung, I found three notices from the police. Each notice was a report of the times the police sent out patrols to watch over the house while we were away. The reports indicate the status of the perimeter fencing, the front and back gates, all windows and the cars we left in the compound. From the name of the officer preparing the notices, I am sure he celebrated his Hari Raya at the station, so that people like me can go visit our loved ones in the kampung with peace of mind, knowing someone is watching over our belongings.
