ONE of the enduring legacies of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamads tenure as prime minister was the centralising impulses of the Federal Government. Perhaps, future researchers and scholars will have cause to delve deeper into whether a leader entrenched over two decades in power was itself a galvanising factor in such a pivot of power away from the states towards Putrajayas all-encompassing embrace.
