GOMBAK, 26 May 2015: A group of students from a leadership and management class has organised a fundraising event for the Rohingya as part of their class project.

œNo one has ever become poor by giving. The Rohingya people need all the help we can provide, said group leader, Shahirul Naim.

The event also entails a trip for the group of students to visit the Rohingya with the purpose of delivering the items that will be received from the fundraiser. The students are also interested in observing the culture and living condition of these people.

Shahirul shared an example of the tough life Rohingya students have to go through saying that œthey would prepare their sleeping clothes when they go for class and after it ends, they will gather and sleep at their classroom because they dont have anywhere else to sleep.

As for the items that are of priority for the fundraiser, Shahirul said that money and food would be of utmost value for the Rohingya. The event will be held at the Madrasah Hashimiah for anyone who is interested in lending a helping hand.***
