KUALA LUMPUR: Axiata Group Bhd, the parent company of Celcom Axiata Bhd, expects to increase its 4G Long-Term Evolution (LTE) coverage to 35 per cent of the Malaysian population from 20 per cent currently. President and Group Chief Executive officer Datuk Seri Jamaludin Ibrahim said the increase would be driven by its major capital expenditure of RM4.8 billion for 2015. œWe have spent RM1 billion across all countries as at the first quarter, primarily towards strengthening the data network. œFor Celcom, we have been investing in the IT system to support the move from 3G to 4G, he told a press conference after the groups annual general meeting here today.
