GOMBAK, 7 May 2015: IIUM.fm celebrates its 5th anniversary today since its estabilishment in 2010 with a simple celebration in conjunction with the HOT.fm’s DJ Ikhwan’s visit to IIUM campus.
This has given all the radio crew members an opportunity to sit down and personally interact with the influential and entertaining radio presenter.
All IIUM.fm crew members warmly welcomed his presence and fell in love straight away with his personality. Lessons were learnt and experiences shared to better understand what to expect in the radio industry should students wish to pursue their passion in radio broadcast.
Other than sharing his experience in the radio industry, DJ Ikhwan also shared much valuable tips and pointers with all crew members on how to improve themselves when presenting on air. Tips on how to breathe properly and how to react to certain situations impressed all IIUM.fm crew members and even shocked them at how simple the process was.
“To be in radio, you have to be strong not only physically but in your heart and mind as well. How good you are is not in the way your voice sounds, but how you use that voice to better interact with your audience.” This was one of the beautiful quotes DJ Ikhwan left for IIUM.fm crew members to digest.
After the sharing session, there was a short photography and selfie session with IIUM.fm crew. This was then proceeded with a cake-cutting and an appreciation speech by both the head producer of IIUM.fm, Mutasim Khamis and the senior producer, Wan Eizzul Islam.
A wonderful and a memorable day that many saw the opportunity and their eyes brightened with the prospect of becoming the next HOT.fm radio announcers.***
