GOMBAK 16 May: University staff were urged to uphold the amanah that had been placed upon them in carrying out their responsibilities. In making the call, Tan Sri Aziz bin Abdul Rahman, said that the ummah had high hopes on the community to further the objectives of IIUM.

“Integrity among IIUM staff is indeed important to ensure accountability in all aspects of conduct,” the Chairman of IIUM Audit said today when launching the Corporate Integrity Pledge (CIP) with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

The CIP was signed by the Rector of IIUM, Dato’ Sri Prof. Zaleha Kamarudin and the Director of Investigation of the MACC, Commissioner Datuk Haji Mustafar Haji Ali.

At the signing ceremony held during the Al-Liqa’ Al-Shahri, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Abdul Aziz, mentioned about the system and procedures that had been established as guidelines for the Community to abide.

“But procedures alone are not sufficient. What is more important is our own conviction, our own self, the amanah that is within us” he said. He also emphasized on the teaching of Islam to be a good Muslim.

“We need to have taqwa and a strong iman is also essential for without that, our services will be nothing,” Tan Sri Aziz, said.
