GOMBAK, 14 April 2015: For the first time, a group of IIUM communication students from COMM 3998 class conducted a pro-bono project, called IIUM Breakfast Call. This pro-bono project came with a strong objective to create awareness and showed concern towards consuming breakfast in the morning.
This two day pro-bono project also urged IIUM community into healthy lifestyle in their daily routine. Free breakfast food were placed at three different bus stops in IIUM, along with free custom-made button badges which were given out.
IIUM Breakfast Call, which carried a theme of ˜Breakfast Rescue symbolised that the main purpose of the project was to ˜rescue the breakfast skippers in IIUM. The pro-bono project was executed on 13Â and 14Â April recently.
A photo contest was held during execution of the project as an additional activity to trigger the attention of IIUM community towards this particular project. Not only free food was given to the respected IIUM community, but also had the chance to win a hamper by posting their most creative pictures with their breakfast food on Instagram and used hashtag of #breakfastrescue.
This pro-bono project came with a big hope of changing peoples perception of having breakfast. They need to know the importance of having breakfast before starting daily routine.
