HUMAN beings, at the heart of things, are animals driven by base needs or instincts. A sweeping statement, perhaps, but one that has a ring of truth to it. The difference between what are supposed to be highly evolved, intelligent creatures and the supposedly less intelligent is what these base instincts are and to what degree they vary.
