The backpacker traveler

By Izzud deen Redzuan

Today, backpacking is becoming more and more popular among young people, and they do love the experience it gives to a traveler. Backpacking means a nomadic lifestyle that indicates that you are having freedom to choose wherever you want to go, what you are going to do there and how long you want to stay there. All decisions are made on the spot without a fixed plan!

Hey, what a college student these days when it’s not on a budget travel? Just because you are lacking of money doesn’t mean you can’t have a fun-backpacking trip with your friends. A domestic backpacking should be okay for beginners like us as students.

I also believe that backpacking also means of education. It’s due to the fact that we are expecting the unknown territory, learning about new culture, meeting new people, and gaining a better understanding of the world we live in. It’s like studying intercultural studies in the practical life and seeing the truth of society by the naked eyes.

Indeed, the idea of travelling instead of working sounds very idealistic, perhaps even a dream of all people. However, bear in mind living within budget and little time within will pressure you to catch all the places of attractions in the host country! So, get a check-in at guesthouse that nearest public transportation hubs.

Another tip is travel to a country where English is the language of choice, so it will not be so challenging to communicate. If the country you are not so familiar with the language, I believe in the importance of learning the basics of the language of the host country. That’s the least you can do as a traveler and able to reduce the language barrier with the locals.

With a lot of help from the Internet, modern backpackers now have turned themselves to Internet savvy. Looking for the best deals and promotions offered by the flight agencies and accommodation booking. Guess what? Backpacking trips always happen in the last minute and the price, trust me it will not be cheap unless you’re lucky!

If you survive the travel, its does mean you’re being smart by finding ways to reduce expenses and especially, the moment when you realised that having a little extra left over at the end of your trip.

Thus, the backpacking expedition will teach you about challenges and accomplishments day-by-day especially when destinations you’re visiting are worth of your time and money spent. By learning that you could choose your path and realise you can go further than you ever imagined.***
