THE conservation of Istana Besar (Grand Palace), which is also known as the Abu Bakar Royal Museum, was mooted by Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar himself, as part of the effort to preserve the royal heritage and as a proud legacy for the people of Johor.
