IIUM signs pledge with MACC

GOMBAK 16 May: International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) today  signed the Corporate Integrity Pledge (CIP) with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to enhance corporate governance, accountability and transparency in all aspects of its conduct of business.

The CIP was signed by the Rector of IIUM, Dato’ Sri Prof. Zaleha Kamarudin and the director of investigation of the MACC, Commissioner Datuk Haji Mustafar Haji Ali.

“We are the second higher learning institution to signed the pledge. It is an initiative for us to uphold transparency in our institution and by signing, IIUM has made a voluntarily unilateral agreement with the MACC to support them,” said the rector of IIUM in her speech.

Among those who witnessed the signing are the Chairman of IIUM Audit Committee, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Abdul Aziz Rahman, as well as staff  members of the university.

With the theme of good governance, this year’s third edition of Al Liqa’ Al Shahri (Monthly Assembly) was held at the Cultural Activity Centre (CAC), IIUM.
