GOMBAK, 9 March 2015: A new café will soon be entering IIUM Gombaks line up of restaurants, a cafe called Café Uniq which opens on 16 March at the student bazaar area.

The manager of Café Uniq, Mr.Yap Yan Huan said: œCafé Uniq is exactly what its name suggests, a unique and trendy eating place with the purpose of enhancing the lifestyle of students in the campus.

It incorporates a blend of café styled presentation and a cafeteria like serving for all customers. The design of the cafe flaunts a very hip and retro look with a kick of industrial make-up to boot.

Café Uniq provides a satisfying menu which suits the taste of all students from different cultural backgrounds. As one enters the café, one will be surrounded by various food stations serving distinct cuisines from Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Arabia and the West. Theres also a bakery for one to indulge in at any time. Drinks include coffee, tea and bubble tea of the finest quality.

Aside from managing Café Uniq, Mr. Han runs Catalyst YMN Sdn. Bhd., a company he founded specifically for the F&B industry. The 29-year old businessman started out with a degree in engineering which he acquired from Universiti Malaysia Trengganu before venturing into his own business. Catalyst YMN Sdn. Bhd. first opened up a café located at INTI University called the Dining Hall which preceded the establishment of the second café in the Gombak campus.

When it comes to the future of the café, Mr Han has already seen glimpses of great potential. œCafé Uniq will see a stage erected just outside the café with enough seating to accommodate 60 people where they can enjoy soothing musical performances by talented musicians, he said.

Not fazed by the pressure, Mr Han said: œI have no expectation to how the café will be received by the students but only know that if they are curious, no doubt they will come.***
