GOMBAK, 24 February 2015: The Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN) has confirmed that the loans will be credited to the students account by today and the process is expected to drag until 3 March.
According to PTPTN’s Finance Department, there are two categories of students whose PTPTN loans would be extended by the end of March; those who have to re-check result status and those sitting for their special examination.
œFurthermore, the tuition fees would not be deducted automatically from the credited loan but payment must be undertaken by the students, said Hafizudin Yahya of Academic and Intellectual Secretariat, Student Representative Council (SRC).
He has advised the students to spend the PTPTN loan wisely especially for purpose of paying their tuition fees.
œFor those who still have not received their PTPTN loan even after 3 March, they may refer to IIUM’s Finance Division (Level 1, Rectory Building). They should be able to assist the students, said Hafizudin.
Hafizuddin explained that the academic calendar of IIUM which is a month earlier than other universities is not the cause of the loan disbursement being delayed but rather this is related to the changes in the PTPTN system.***
