THE Syariah is an anathema to the œmoderates, but it gives balance to a Muslim society. The protection that the Syariah affords us is plainly exemplified when one sees the Mat Rempits. These rowdies would be a nuisance and may do drugs but one will never find them with beer cans. It is the Syariah that protects them from the evils of alcohol the curse that one finds among hooligans in other countries.
