KL shares higher mid-afternoon

KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia was higher at mid-afternoon today, lifted by gains in selected key heavyweights, dealers said. At 3.05pm, the benchmark FBM KLCI was up 19.28 points at 1,801.03. Gainers outpaced losers by 477 to 363, while 294 counters were unchanged, 600 untraded and seven others suspended. Turnover stood at 1.77 billion shares worth RM1.86 billion. On the scoreboard, the FBM Emas Index rose 116.79 points to 12,401.58, FBMT100 Index was up 116.46 points to 12,096.98 and the FBM Emas Shariah Index went up 158.51 points to 12,998.77. The FBM 70 advanced 79.01 points to 13,448.4 and the FBM Ace increased 12.5 points to 6,331.9. The Finance Index perked 62.03 points to 15,631.4 and Industrial Index added 25.58 points to 3,287.73.
