KUALA LUMPUR: The Kuala Lumpur Tin Market (KLTM) closed US$400 higher at US$19,100 a tonne today, following the metals sharp price increase on the London Metal Exchange (LME). The tin price on the LME increased US$450 to US$19,250 a tonne. On the local front, a dealer said todays price was supported by scattered buying from European traders, followed by Japanese and local buyers. œThere is a positive uptrend, as the tin price picks up from last weeks decline, he added. At the opening on the KLTM, buyers bid for 132 tonnes, while sellers offered 22 tonnes.
