Volunteers work to provide assistance for flood victims

GOMBAK, 26 December 2014: Faith in humanity has been restored. Students of IIUM work collaboratively with an outside organisation to provide assistance to flood victims in Kelantan.

Last night, more than 200 students became volunteers to move aid items from individuals to a truck for transportation to KLIA2.

A cargo flight sponsored by Malindo Air was provided to send supplies to the flood-hit victims in Kelantan. The supplies provided are mainly food, drinking water, diapers and other basic needs because the condition there is getting worse and the victims are desperately in need of clean items.

Due to the closing of roads to the affected areas, the fastest way to transport the supplies is by flight. More than seven cars including one truck were used that night to transport the supplies from main campus of IIUM, Gombak to KLIA2.***
