KUALA LUMPUR, 9 December 2014: International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) ventured one step further in making serious effort to discover opportunities for internship placement or industrial training for its students as well as for staff attachment related to the collaboration activities. This followed the signing of Collaboration Agreement (CA) today with Boustead Heavy Industries Corporation (BHIC) Allied Defence Technology on research and development (R&D) particularly for activities in the area of naval combat management system and C2 system building.
The collaboration agreement was signed to further endeavour industrial collaboration with local leading industry that will enable transmission of knowledge by IIUM research in the field of engineering, ICT and smart administration.
It has always been IIUM’s intention for industrial collaboration to widen its scope so that the field of knowledge will equally benefit the university and the industry in developing smart-partnership in academia-industry joint collaboration with the aim to become the premier university in the world.
Present at the signing ceremony were the university’s Rector, Prof. Dato Seri Dr. Zaleha Kamaruddin and Deputy Rector (Internationalisation & Industry and Community Relations), Prof. Dr. Abdelaziz Berghout, who represented IIUM, while Boustead Heavy Industries Corporation Berhad was represented by the Managing Director, Tan Sri Ahmad Ramli Bin Hj. Mohd Nor and the Managing Director of BHIC Allied Defence Technology Sdn. Bhd., Mahamud Sayuti Bin Abdul Halim.***
