The Secretariat of English Language Linguistics and Literature (ELITS) held the opening session of the ˜BENL Prospective Week with a forum on postgraduate studies.
Among the panelists include Prof. Nor Faridah Abdul Manaf, Director of CERDAS IIUM, who applauded the effort for the organizing of the event.
It is important, she said, for students to be aware of their prospects as early as year one of their studies.
This would help students to plan and achieve the required results needed to enter a recognized university to do their masters degree.
She further added that students need to know what their capabilities and interests are in order to excel in their intended field of studies.
Third year student, Jamardiah binti Yusof, said that the session opened up her eyes to the various fields that a BENL graduate could undertake at the postgraduate level.
She also felt that the advice given by the speakers were both practical and heartfelt.
In conclusion, she wished that the programme would continue to be organized in the coming years as it will definitely help channel important information and tips to students who plan to pursue their future in academia.
