Thai economy set to grow over 4pc in Q4

BANGKOK: Thailands economy is expected to grow slightly more than four per cent in the final quarter of this year from the same period a year ago due to improved exports and tourism, a senior official from the finance ministry said yesterday. That should put full-year growth close to the ministrys forecast of 1.4 per cent, said Kritsada Jinavijarana, director-general of the Fiscal Policy Office. In the first nine months, Thailand grew only 0.2 per cent from a year earlier, depressed by weak exports and months of political unrest. Reuters
