GOMBAK, 9 November 2014: Good news to all IIUM community! IIUM Press will be organising the Book Festival 2014 at the courtyard located between the Library and Research Management Centre of International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) from 10 to 14 November.
The aim of this annual event is to inform the university’s community about the re-opening of IIUM Bookstore which is selling the university’s academic and research publications. Being the only bookstore that is affiliated with the university, money spent by the students will be returned to help with the cost of publishing of new books by academicians, which also includes special events and services related to writing, editing and publishing.
The official launching of  IIUM Bookshop and IIUM Press Book Festival 2014 are held yesterday (November 10) and featured the President of IIUM Tan Sri Dr. Rais Yatim and followed by the opening speech by IIUM Rector, Prof. Dato’ Sri Dr. Zaleha Kamaruddin.
This five-day event is also offering a lot of activities for students to participate. The activities include workshop and training on writing and editing quality book on 11 November by Abdurezak A. Hasihi and Akram M. zeki. This event also offers book talk and autograph session on 12 November by two well-known authors, Thameem Ushama and Wan Ali Wan Mamat.
Not only that, there will be book exhibition, book sales, ‘Kufi’ competition, cover design competition along the five days.***
