KUALA LUMPUR: British American Tobacco (M) Bhds (BAT) net profit increased 9.9 per cent in the third quarter ended September 30 to RM241.1 million, or 84.4 sen a share. Group revenue increased marginally to RM1.2 billion from RM1.17 billion previously, BAT said in a filing to Bursa Malaysia yesterday. For the nine months ended September 30, its net profit increased 12.6 per cent to RM714.6 million while revenue rose 5.9 per cent to RM3.6 billion. The company declared a tax-exempt dividend of 78 sen per share, 10 sen more than previously, amounting to a payout of RM222.7million.
