NEW YORK: The global market for personal computers (PC) showed signs of stabilising in the third quarter as infatuation with tablets appeared to fade, a market tracker said on Wednesday. The quarterly report by Gartner Inc said global PC shipments dipped 0.5 per cent from a year ago to 79.4 million units in the quarter ended in September. Gartner said the PC market grew in œmature markets such as North America and Western Europe, offsetting declines in emerging markets, and suggested the worst may be over for PC makers. AFP
