Placing the welfare of IIUM students before them, Student Representative Council (SRC), took the initiative to raise funds for the victims of IIUM bus accident early this week.
Welfare Secretariat of SRC, Wan Ahmad Khairi Wan Ahmad, said that SRC members had a meeting last Sunday, where they came to a decision to come up with a letter to organize a fund raising campaign to ease the burden of the victims.
Khairi added that the fund raising activities are in collaboration with all SRC members from all Kulliyyah, Mahallah Representative Committee (MRC) and Kulliyyah Based Society (KBS).
He added that the rector had approved their cause and the fund raising activities will begin this week.
Five IIUM students were critically injured in an accident when their bus plunged into a water retention pond at the North-South Expressway near the Duta toll plaza last Sunday.
