TOKYO/NEW YORK: Japans SoftBank is in talks to acquire DreamWorks Animation SKG in a deal that valued DreamWorks at as much as US$3.4 billion (RM11.08 billion), it was reported yesterday. The Hollywood Reporter quoted an unidentified source with knowledge of the deal as saying an acquisition would value California-based DreamWorks at US$3.4 billion. That would value DreamWorks at US$32 per share. DreamWorks has produced 29 animated feature films, including hits like œShrek. Reuters
