Ummatic Solidarity Gathering collects 15K to aid Gaza

NILAI: More than 20, 000 people of all races and nationalities attended the Ummatic Solidarity Gathering held at Stadium Tertutup, Negeri Sembilan recently.

Held on 13 September, this event was organised by a number of non-government organisations such as Aman Palestin, Persatuan Belia Islam Nasional (PEMBINA), and Persatuan Pengguna Islam Malaysia(PPIM).

The gathering was held in conjunction with the closing ceremony of Kempen Bulan Kemarahan Ummah,  co-organised by PEMBINA IIUM and was a continuation of the PEMBINA4GAZA campaign.

The campaign had successfully collected RM15,000 of donations for Gaza in one week. PEMBINA IIUM in collaboration with Aman Palestin assembled more than 300 people from IIUM Gombak campus to attend the gathering.

Among the highlights of the event were the attendance of Hamas’ Head of International Relations,Dr Usamah Hamdani, speeches and performances from local celebrities including Fetya, Wan Kamarudin, Maulana, Mr Bie, Badrul Sani, and special nasyeed performance by an international group, Al-Waedu from Lubnan. The series of spectacular performances portraying the great spirit of the Palestinians in facing the Zionists had kept the audience at the edge of their seats.

œAll donations have been received and are put to good use by the people of Gaza, said Chief Executive Officer of Aman Palestin Gaza, Ir Omar Seyam during his speech.

œWe are very fortunate and we highly appreciate the concerns of Malaysians, he added, acknowledging the support of Malaysia for the people of Gaza in the Palestine-Israel conflict.

Advisor of Kempen Bulan Kemarahan Ummah, Tan Sri Zaman Khan officiated the Gaza Recovery and Rebuilding Fund during the gathering with a target of achieving a total donation of RM50 million for Gaza.

PEMBINA IIUM had shown an exceptional commitment on this issue and will continue to help the people of Gaza. They also urged the people to take the opportunity to be a part of this campaign and provide aids in any means possible.
