More debt funds open as India risk falls

MUMBAI: Global fund managers are starting their first Indian corporate bond funds as credit risk drops amid Prime Minister Narendra Modis bid to revive the economy. JPMorgan Asset Management Pvts India Corporate Debt Opportunities Fund opened for subscriptions on September 8, followed a day later by Deutsche Asset Management India Pvts DWS Corporate Debt Opportunities Fund. The plans come as Bloombergs default risk model shows the risk of companies reneging on their debt in the coming 12 months has fallen to a three-year low. Bloomberg
