PAGOH, 8 May 2026: Students of the BMCO 3102 Kesantunan Bahasa course successfully organised a podcast session titled, “Di Balik Papan Kekunci, Bicara Terjaga” at KSTCL Lecture Hall B3, IIUM Pagoh, on Friday.
The featured programme invited panelists Mr. Afiq Zulhilmi from the Communications and Multimedia Content Forum of Malaysia (CMCF) along with Firdaus Rahmat, a Malaysian influencer and singer, who shared their insights on the importance of maintaining respectful communication in social media.
The session also highlighted the theme, “Integriti Siber, Pemacu Karier”, emphasizing that cyber integrity plays an important role in shaping a positive digital environment and future career development.
The opening ceremony was officiated by Dr. Arina binti Johari and Dr. Nora’Azian binti Nahar. During the speech, Dr. Arina expressed her appreciation towards the organising committee for their dedication in ensuring the programme ran smoothly and successfully. She also stated that the invited panelists were satisfied and happy with the overall outcome of the event.
During the programme, Mr. Afiq Zulhilmi praised the booth presentation prepared by the students, describing it as an effective initiative to expose the public to the importance of politeness and ethics in online communication. According to him, such efforts are essential in creating a more respectful and harmonious digital community.
Meanwhile, Programme Manager Sr. Hani Sofea stressed the importance of the phrase “thinking before typing” as a key practice in promoting responsible online behaviour. She explained that users should be more mindful of their words on social media to help create a safer digital environment free from cyberbullying and unethical communication.
The programme successfully raised awareness about the importance of politeness and ethics in digital communication, particularly in addressing cyberbullying and online misconduct, while encouraging participants to reflect on their communication behind screens and practise courtesy and integrity in cyberspace.***
