GOMBAK, 12 December 2025: Graduate from Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours), Nur Fatihah binti Abdullah shared her inspiring journey switching from Bachelor of Business Administration to Computer Science at the recent IIUM 41st Convocation Ceremony in the eighth session at IIUM Cultural Centre (ICC).
Nur Fatihah started her academic journey in IIUM enrolling in Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) at Kuliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences (KENMS) but then, she decided to switch to Computer Science programme in Kuliyyah of Informations and Communications Technology (KICT) and managed to graduate on time with only three and half years with 3.50 CGPA.
She said the turning point of her decision was during the pandemic of Covid-19 where she saw a bigger potential in the Information Technology (IT) industry.
“I came from an accounting stream during high school and did not take any programming or coding in foundation. I had to learn everything from zero and learn everything from scratch,” expressed Nur Fatihah.
She continued, “I took the maximum credit hours every semester and I took a short semester as well. I struggled and put extra effort with more workloads every semester.”
Nur Fatihah Abdullah advised those who are still afraid or rethinking their choice of changes, “Follow your heart and just do it because later on, it will actually consume yourself as well. It will affect you in the long run. Don’t be afraid of changes and always be in your uncomfortable zone because that is what actually makes you stronger and can adapt to changes better.”***
